Batting Facility Feature – Junior Swamp Bats, New Hampshire

In an effort to run longer practice for their teams, offer free cage time for members and host camps and clinics open to the public, Junior Swamp Bats decided to stop renting tunnels and open their own facility in Swanzey, NH. Having seen our work at a facility in nearby Marlborough, NH where they were renting time, it was an easy decision for the baseball and softball organization’s board of directors to choose On Deck Sports for the new build-out.

Batting Section

The batting and fielding section of the Junior Swamp Bats’ 11,000 square foot facility is outfitted with On Deck Sports’ durable GT34 padded turf, and 36-gauge nylon netting. Being a non-profit organization and operating on a tight budget, the Junior Swamp Bats were able to save money by utilizing skilled volunteers within the organization to install the netting. It is not uncommon for our customers to handle installations themselves, and our team of architects and project managers can provide detailed drawings and instructions to help. Although comfortable with the netting, JSB President Jim Fennell knew the turf would be a difficult task, “While we were able to install the netting ourselves, we knew experts were needed to install the turf. We are thrilled with both products as well as the turf installation.”

Right On Time

Working on a tight timeline during the holiday season, On Deck Sports was able to complete the Junior Swamp Bats facility project by their desired time frame of December 1st. Fennell compliments facility expert, Ryan Kane, and the Operations team for their constant check-ins and keeping the project on track.

On Deck Sports Equipment

The Junior Swamp Bats facility needed durable equipment for the best possible price, so they furnished the facility with On Deck Sports products including Bullet Screens, vinyl backdrops, batting mats, and portable pitching mounds. Fennell is pleased with the project as a whole and with an additional 21,000 square feet available at the facility, On Deck Sports and the Junior Swamp Bats look forward to working together in the future to outfit and maximize the entire space.
